The Paphos Police proceeded to arrest a person to facilitate investigations into an investigated case of forgery and circulation of a forged document at Paphos airport.
According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations Michalis Nikolaou on Tuesday, around 14:00, a man presented himself in the departures area of Paphos airport bound for the Netherlands presenting a residence permit and a Polish travel document.
From a check made on this particular document it became clear that it was fake. He himself, Mr. Nikolaou told KYPE, currently denies committing the crimes. He was therefore arrested on a warrant and taken into custody.
The man had arrived in Cyprus on October 23, 2024 on a flight from Brussels presenting the same residence permit and had been granted the residence permit until yesterday. However, during his departure, the forged document was detected and he was arrested.
