The government spokesman, Konstantinos Letymiotis, said that the increased geopolitical and military weight that the United States attaches to the Republic of Cyprus is highlighted by yesterday's amendment 1233, to the Defense Budget of the United States.
In a post on Platform X, Mr. Letymiotis said that, with its inclusion in the list of states that meet the criteria for participation in multilateral military training programs together with Eastern European countries, under the auspices of the United States, Cyprus becomes the only state other than NATO and the Partnership for Peace, which is included in this list.
