Bayten expressed his gratitude to Cyprus for the assistance provided by the Republic to the humanitarian aid mission in Gaza through the Amalthia initiative.
In the official announcement of the White House, regarding the meeting between the two Presidents, it states that "President Biden, recognizing the 50 years since the division of Cyprus, reiterated his support for a solution of a Bizonal Bicommunal Federation with political equality for all Cypriots".
In addition, he notes that the solution must be compatible with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
The announcement also states that "today's visit follows the completion of the first cycle of the US-Cyprus Strategic Dialogue that took place in Nicosia, with the two leaders discussing a wide range of issues of common interest. Among them energy, regional security and the Ukrainian".
President Biden also expressed gratitude to the Republic of Cyprus for the "Amalthia" initiative, through which 8,000 tons of humanitarian aid reached Gaza.
