An emergency occurred in the Paphos area. A foreign tourist from Germany was injured while walking along the famous Avakas Canyon.
According to Michalis Nikolaou, assistant chief of operations at the Paphos police department, on Saturday, November 9, at around 3:30 p.m., law enforcement officers received a call requesting assistance. As it turned out, a foreign woman who was walking along the gorge lost her balance, fell to the ground, as a result of which she received injuries and could not get out of it.
Officers from the Peyia police station, as well as a fire brigade, went to the scene of the emergency and managed to find the injured woman and provide her with the necessary assistance.
The tourist was taken by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital's emergency department where it was discovered she had suffered an ankle injury. Doctors examined the victim, applied a plaster cast, and then sent her home.
