On Saturday, May 24, in the coastal zone of sea caves in the Famagusta region, a rescue operation conducted.
This was announced by the press secretary of the Fire Service of Cyprus Andreas Kettis.
According to him, firefighters pulled out a woman in a trap. A unit of rescuers from Famagusta immediately arrived at the scene. The woman was in an inaccessible rocky zone and could not get out on her own. The fire department promptly conducted an initial assessment of its condition and with the assistance of the ambulance team stabilized the victim.
Then, using special climbing and rescue equipment, the woman was carefully recorded on a stretcher and raised from the territory of the caves to a safe section of the road. From there, she was handed over to the ambulance doctors.
The victim was delivered to the Famagustian hospital emergency assistance for further examination and medical care. Her condition is specified.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of rescuers and doctors, the operation was successful and without complications. The fire service once again reminded me of the need to be careful in coastal rocky areas, especially in places with limited access.
