A 41-year-old garbage truck driver involved in a traffic accident on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway near Moni died from his injuries on Wednesday evening, October 2.
Limassol resident Yorgos Philippou was intubated in critical condition at a private clinic in Nicosia.
The accident occurred shortly after midnight on September 2 when a garbage truck collided with a guardrail on the highway and then overturned. The driver, who was seriously injured, was hospitalized.
As a result of the emergency, the road was blocked. Traffic police have redirected traffic to the old Limassol-Nicosia road. Moni police are investigating.
