At about 8:50 am on Saturday, January 10, on a dirt road near the village of Pentalia (Paphos region), a 32-year-old Greek Cypriot from Geroskipou lost control of his car. The car fell into a ravine. The driver died.
Stylianos Genis became the first traffic accident victim in the Republic of Cyprus in 2026.
Shortly before the tragedy, Stylianos' 35-year-old friend got out of the car to unload the hunting dogs they were going to train that day. A 35-year-old man called the police and an ambulance. The emergency site has been cordoned off.
