Heavy rains in Cyprus on the afternoon of September 23 turned the main roads into real rivers. According to the fire service, 12 calls were recorded related to the evacuation of drivers from flooded areas.
Work to eliminate the consequences of the rain continued for several hours, in particular, pumping water from the flooded basements of houses, businesses and other objects. Three crews worked at the flood site.
In addition, heavy rains caused landslides on roads in Troodos around 16:30. The police had to help drivers and participate in clearing roads.
