Turkey recorded a budget shortfall of 261.5 billion lira (approximately $6.87 billion) in March, according to a statement released by the Treasury and Finance Ministry on Tuesday.
The ministry also reported a primary deficit — which excludes interest payments — amounting to 100.2 billion lira.
The exchange rate at the time stood at 38.0617 lira to the US dollar.
