Toyota and Mazda accelerate the replacement of pillows in cars

6820 cars were added to the list of vehicles to be reviewed due to a faulty airbag. This was at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on communications and public work by the head of the road department, Yorgos Luke.

Additional information about vehicles with a defective pillow was identified through the European RAPEX dangerous review system, as well as thanks to the analysis conducted by Volkswagen. The road department has prepared a computerized system for notifying the owners about the review and repairs. In addition, the Toyota company will be allocated a place on the territory of Cyprus Expo for equipping a more spacious workshop and replacing pillows in cars from third countries. A large batch of pillows for replacement for faulty equipment is expected in late March.

As of early February, 81,060 cars were identified as a danger due to a faulty airbag. Of these, 69,516 cars expected an official review from the country's roads. 5400 cars were listed as immobilized, 2500 were removed from registration. The largest number of cars with a defective pillow is Mazda and Toyota brands. Representations of these companies also showed the most operational rates of the replacement of faulty equipment.
