Limassol, from 23 to 27 April 2025, is ready to welcome the Samos Championship from April 27 to 27 April 2025. At a press conference held at the Limassol Municipal Palace on Tuesday, April 15, the President of the Cyprus Federation of Sambo, Mr. Mario Andreou, said the event counts 800 participants- 200 attendants and 600 athletes- from European countries.
According to Mr. Andreou, all age categories are competing, and the Cyprus mission will compete with 17 athletes.
The Deputy Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Municipality of Katsis, said it was a great honor for the city to host such an event, stating that it is the second pan -European martial arts organizing in Limassol.
Sambo is a continuation of the Greco -Roman struggle, and was created in the ranks of the Red Army, which makes it of Soviet origin.
