Maryland state authorities have announced the arrest of alleged Zizians leader Jack Lasota, 34, as well as 33 -year -old Michelle Zaiko from Pennsylvania. The two detainees are accused of illegal entry into the country, obstructing justice and possession of a vehicle.
The arrest took place on Sunday, with a warranty hearing scheduled for 11am on Tuesday morning at the Alegani Regional Court.
Dark history and interface with crimes
The Zizians team, as the Guardian reports, is linked to the murder of US border guard David Maland in January near the Canadian border, as well as five more homicides in Vermond, Pennsylvania and California.
The 44 -year -old Maland was killed on January 20 in an exchange of shots during a rolling of the city of Coventry, about 32 kilometers from the border with Canada. This tragic event was the starting point of a broader research that revealed the team's action.
The ideological background of the sect
The Zizians team appears to be made up of young, intelligent computer scientists, mainly people aged 20 to 30, who met online, shared anarchist beliefs and escalated into violent acts. Their writings cover a variety of themes, from radical veganism and gender identity to artificial intelligence.
The alleged leader of the team, who calls himself "Ziz" and uses the she/Her pronouns, is known for her extreme online posts. In a blog he maintained, he describes the theory that the two hemispheres of the brain can have different values and gender and that "they often want to exterminate each other".
Lasota, who declares a trans woman, has expressed in her texts intense hostility to various groups, such as those that focus on understanding human intellect through logic and science, with some worrying about the dangers of artificial intelligence.

She has not responded to repeated attempts by the Associated Press in recent weeks. Her lawyer, Daniel McGarigl, avoided answering whether she was involved in the murder case.
"I can only confirm that I have represented it legally," McGarigl said, without mentioning the arrest or other details of the case. Lasota already had pending arrest warrants in two states, as it did not appear in previous judicial proceedings.
Authorities are continuing the investigation, examining the group's motives and the conditions under which its murder was organized.
The timing of the Zizians Action
It follows a look at the timetable of the events of a series of murders that culminated in the shooting on January 20, during which a Brigadier Officer in Vermont was killed.
