On the evening of January 19 in Peyia at around 6:00 p.m., a family conflict turned into an attempted murder.
A 57-year-old man allegedly fired a shotgun at his 47-year-old wife, injuring her in various parts of her body.
The victim was rushed to Paphos General Hospital where she will undergo surgery. According to doctors, the woman was conscious and could communicate.
Neighbors said that there had been disagreements between the spouses for a long time, which ultimately led to the tragedy. During interrogation, the detainee confirmed that the conflict was related to family disputes.
After committing the crime, the man did not try to escape and was detained by the police at the scene. The area was cordoned off, forensic experts and representatives of the Ministry of Health began working to study the circumstances of the incident.
The case is being investigated by the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department.
