Repairs will affect even more roads

Bridge repairs on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, Nicosia road closures and work on traffic islands: The Department of Public Works has announced projects that will start in early September.

Repair and strengthening of the bridge on the Nicosia – Limassol highway near the village of Kalavasos

From September 9 to December 23 this year, work will be carried out to strengthen and repair the Kalavasos Bridge, along which the Nicosia-Limassol highway passes.

While the work is being carried out, a 1 km section of the highway along both lanes towards Limassol will be closed. Traffic towards Limassol will be carried out on the opposite side of the highway, on which one lane will be allocated for traffic to Limassol, and the second - to Nicosia.

The Zygi exit will also be closed; drivers may use the Governor's Beach exit.

Renewal of the road surface on Louka Akritos and Navarinou streets in Agios Dometios in Nicosia

From Monday 2 September to Wednesday 4 September, from 20:00 to 5:30, Louka Akritos and Navarinou streets in Agios Dometios (near the intersection of the Supreme Court building) will be closed due to road resurfacing works. Signs will be installed on the roads to avoid the blocked area.

Installation of anti-glare screens on the Nicosia – Limassol highway

From Monday, September 2 to Thursday, September 5, from 21:00 to 5:30, work will take place to install anti-glare screens on the central traffic island of the Nicosia - Limassol highway from the Moni exit to the Skarinu exit. One of the two lanes towards Nicosia will be closed in sections of 500 meters.

Watering plants on the central traffic island on the Larnaca-Ayia Napa highway

From Monday, September 9 to Thursday, September 12, every day from 8:00 to 16:00, watering works will take place on the central traffic island of the Larnaca - Ayia Napa highway from the Xylotimvu exit to the Xylofagu exit. One of the two lanes towards Ayia Napa will be closed in sections of 1.5 kilometers.

The Public Works Department apologizes for any inconvenience caused and requests that you follow the instructions of the Cyprus Police and exercise caution on the roads.
