The Cyprus Theater Organization and the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth organized the awards ceremonies of the 36th Pancyprian Theater School Games at the Thoc Theater at the Evi Gavriilides Central Stage.
The ceremonies took place on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday, May 7, 2025, thus closing, solemnly closing the event that the institution is organized every year to discover the beauty of creation, and through a lot of work, efforts and collaboration with their teammates and their cooperation and cooperation with their classmates.
At the ceremony held on May 6, 2025, the high schools were honored and the ceremony on May 7, 2025 was dedicated to the high school.
Continuing the institution of award every year, a teacher who offered much to the institution of school races, at the ceremony on May 7, 2025, the teacher Christodoulos Katsouris was awarded for his valuable and multifaceted contribution to school culture.
After the end of both awards ceremonies, the participants had the opportunity to watch Loren Ganderson's "I and You", directed by Christodoulou Andreou, with Andrea Koutsoumpa and Niki Dragoumis, production of THO.
This year's Games were attended by 52 Secondary and Technical Education Schools, public and private, from the Nicosia, Larnaca-Free Famagusta, Limassol and Paphos regions, which presented works by the contemporary Greek and foreign repertoire as well as works by the ancient drama.
On behalf of the THOC, the ceremony on May 6 was addressed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Pantelis Voutouris, and the ceremony on May 7 was addressed by the Vice President of the Board of Directors, Mr. Anthi Antoniadou. Pantelis Voutouris, Flowers Antoniadou, Maria Hamalis, Spyros Antonellos, Maria Alexandrou and members of the critical committees of the 36th Pancyprian Theater School Games award.
As a reward, THOC offers every child who participated in the races, and to up to three teachers from each school the theatrical card that gives them free access to every production of THOC for one year. It is also given a free admission for a guided tour of the Cyprus Theater Museum in Limassol with the card.
A timeless supporter of the Games is the Cyprus Bank Cultural Foundation, which was involved in the races following the recommendation of the late Panagiotis Sergi, in whose memory the theater races are held. He was the man who revived the ancient theater of Salamis, presenting for the first time after his discovery in 1962 the tragedy of Sophocles Oedipus Tyrannos with Famagusta Gymnasium students. He was decisive in the training and implementation of the educational policy of the Ministry of Education, worked for the establishment of the Cyprus Theater Organization and served as Chairman of the Artistic Committee of the Organization and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation.
This year, it was important to support OPAP Cyprus, which is sporting the schools that received the first prize in their category with an amount of 1200 each, a total of 12,000 to use it to benefit the children who were involved in the theatrical play that brought their first prize to the school. The OPAP awards were made by Mr. Nikos Benioudakis, OPAP Cyprus Marketing Manager. In both ceremonies, Mrs. Agathi Mannaridou, Director of Marketing in OPAP Cyprus, also attended the ceremonies. Mr. Benioudakis revealed OPAP's intention to become an institutional sponsor of the Games and to work with the co -organizers to further support the institution, rewarding the excellent work done for the development of theatrical education in adolescents.
