The Cyprus Car Association, upon consultation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment, assures that "Aphrodite 2025" will normally take place on routes outside the Paphos and Natura 2000.
Specifically, the organizers of the event reported that they would follow the suggestions of Minister of Agriculture Dr. Maria Panagiotou on the route that will follow the rally. In his statements to the CYPE, the President of the Pafos Car Association, Marios Andreou, said that a problem had arisen with the original route and after a meeting yesterday, Friday, the organizers, with the Minister of Agriculture and the Director of the Department of Forestry, as it was decided to divert at 16:30.
The change, he said, focuses on the fact that there are high temperatures but also due to some birds living in the area. So, he continued, the organizers decided to change the route and go out of Natura and especially during a breeding period to avoid environmental problems.
It is noted that the Minister of Agriculture, in a post on "X" on Friday afternoon, had said that the "Rally Aphrodite" 2025 informed the organizers on Wednesday that they could not perform such events in Natura and especially in breeding. "The position of the Ministry as well as the Department of Forests and the Thira Service is to find alternative routes outside of forests and outside Natura, as we are going through breeding and high temperatures," he added. Therefore, he said, the rally will not take place in the Paphos forest.
In a statement by the Municipality of Hierokopia, it is also stated that this is the first race of the Pancyprian Rally 2025 Championship, the Aphrodite Rally, held by the Cyprus Car Association (CSS) and is organized by the Paphos Motorsport Association, which is held at the 15th.
The start of the race, he adds, will be given at 4:30 pm on Saturday afternoon at Geroskipou Square and will follow throughout the province. The finish is expected around 17:30 on Sunday in Geroskipou Square.
The Municipality of Hierokipia alerts the public that Rigais Street, heading to the Curry Crafts area up to the KEO roundabout, will remain closed on 15/3/2025 from 15:00 pm By 19:00 pm
It is urged by the public who would like to attend the hyperidian route (SSS) to come to the site in a timely manner and follow the prompts of the rollerm.
