An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck the Paphos area on Wednesday night, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported.
The tremors were recorded at 12:29 a.m., with the epicenter located at a depth of 10.1 kilometers, 18 kilometers southwest of the city of Paphos and 72 kilometers west of Limassol.
The earthquake was felt in several localities including Chlorakas, Mesogi, Tremitousa, Geroskipou and other nearby areas. According to preliminary data, there was no information about damage or casualties.
