A new shipment of 940 tons of humanitarian aid from Cyprus has arrived at the port of Ashdod and will be delivered to citizens of Gaza through the United Nations Office for Program Support Services (UNOPS), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a post on Platform X on Tuesday.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these humanitarian items include food and equipment for the construction of shelters and are in addition to the 27,000 tons of aid already distributed to Gaza through the Cyprus Sea Humanitarian Corridor.
It is added that the implementation of the Amalthia Plan continues, in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates and in coordination with UNOPS and international partners, including other EU Member States.
"Cyprus will continue to actively contribute to the humanitarian sector in coordination with its partners, always under the auspices of the United Nations," concludes the Ministry.
