At yesterday's demonstration in Eleftherias Square, organized by Fidias against the ban on mobile phones in schools, a student asked the MP about his position on legalizing cannabis.
Phidias expressed the opinion that legalization will bring benefits, noting: “legalization will bring a better quality product to the market.” However, he acknowledged the issue is complex because legalization could encourage more people to start using. He said illicit use of cannabis "doesn't help the situation" and instead of futile discussions, it would be better to consider legalization in the long term.
In conclusion, Fidiy added that the government could “make a lot of money from cannabis” if it was legalized, and emphasized that in general he supports this initiative.
Commentators noted that during the conversation Fidas himself was high on smoke, and some wrote that he had water in his hands.
