On Kourion beach, the modernization of the coastal cafe, which has existed there for many years, has begun. However, it is not yet clear whether the owner of the establishment will be able to complete the renovation.
The fact is that the Cyprus Environmental Movement opposed the renovation of the cafe. Activists said that the repairs threaten the ecology of the region and called for an immediate stop to all work.
They called the renovation of the building a destructive operation for the environment and ecosystem. According to them, any form of intervention without the necessary planning and necessary ecological studies can have serious consequences on the fauna, flora and territory of the area.
