Forecasters expect temperatures to continue to fall and even drop below seasonal normal. The Met Office says the region is in an area of low air pressure and unsettled air masses will prevail from Sunday.
On Friday, August 30, the weather will be mostly clear, with some cloudiness only on the west coast. Rain is possible in the mountainous areas and in the east of the island in the afternoon.
Winds are southwesterly and moderate over most of the island, but on the south and southwest coasts winds can be strong to very strong, ranging from 5 to 6 Beaufort.

During the day, temperatures will reach 37 degrees in the interior, 34 degrees on the southeast and east coasts, 32 degrees on the remaining coasts, 29 degrees in the mountains. At night the temperature will be 22 degrees in the interior of the island, 24 degrees on the west coast, 23 degrees on the remaining coasts and 17 degrees in the mountains.
Cloudiness will gradually increase on Saturday, with showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon, especially in the mountainous areas, in the south and east of the island.
The first days of September, Sunday and Monday, will also be cloudy, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms possible in the interior and east.
Temperatures will gradually decrease from today until Monday and will be below average climatic values.
