In Limassol, Cyprus Civil Defense Employees carried out a multi-hour rescue operation, during which they saved 49-year-old Menelaos Stavrinidis. The man was bitten by a poisonous snake, at the same time he suffered from a thermal blow during a run.
According to rescuers, the victim was discovered in critical condition and taken to the hospital, where he spent 10 days under the supervision of doctors. After stabilizing the condition, it was discharged.
His relatives reported about 7:30 in the morning, after he did not return from the morning trenches.
Civil defense units were involved in the search. The head of the rescue department in Limassol, Mikhalis Muskakally, managed to find a man closer to 15:00. The victim was in the courtyard of a residential building, where he managed to reach, trying to find help.
The operation showed the effectiveness of the interaction of emergency services: after a message about the loss, all structures were mobilized immediately.
