On November 12 at 11:35 a strong earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale occurred in Cyprus.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), the epicenter of the tremors was 10 kilometers southeast of Paphos, and the depth of the source was about 11 kilometers.
Seismologists reported that the earthquake was felt in many areas of the island, including Limassol, Nicosia and Polis. Emergency evacuations were carried out at schools and office buildings.
There have been no reports of casualties or significant damage at this time, but civil defense services and police continue to monitor the situation.
