On Sunday, August 25, an incident occurred in the area of Prodromos and Drushi, located near Paphos, involving a 46-year-old hunter who was injured while hunting pheasant.
According to Assistant Director of Paphos Police Michalis Nikolaou, at 06:30 Polis Chrysochous police received a report that a 46-year-old Paphos resident had been shot in the eye after being shot. The victim was taken to Paphos Hospital's emergency department, where doctors discovered pellet in his right eye, Nicolaou said. The patient is expected to be examined by an ophthalmologist today to determine the extent of the damage.
According to the victim, he was accidentally shot by another hunter from Limassol. He offered to take the injured man to the hospital, but the victim was eventually driven to the hospital by his friend.
Nicolaou added that police checked the hunting licenses of both the victim and the alleged shooter. The incident is currently under investigation by police.
