The building permits issued in January - December 2024 are reduced by 4.8%, according to the Statistical Service.
Specifically, 6,827 building permits were issued, compared to 7,170 in the corresponding period of the previous year.
During this period, 4,706 were given for residential buildings, 1,066 for non -residential buildings, 390 for civil engineering projects, 496 for land divisions and 169 for road construction. Plot divisions and road construction made the largest annual reduction, with 13.3% and 24.6% respectively. The number of residential units increased by 2.6%.
The total area of these licenses increased by 1.2%, while the total value remained stable.
It is noted that as of July 1, 2024, the jurisdiction of building permits was transferred from the Municipalities and Provincial Administrations to the newly established provincial local authorities (EOAs) and the licensing procedures are carried out through the new Integrated Information System "Hippodamus".
As for December, the number of building permits issued amounted to 385 compared to 587 in December 2023, recording a decrease of 34.4%.
The total value of these licenses reached € 181.4 million and the total area of 144.9 thousand square meters. These licenses provide for 745 residential units to be erected.
