Cyprus supported the US peace plan

Cyprus officially welcomed the peaceful initiative of US President Donald Trump, aimed at ending the war in gas.

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cyprus is emphasized that the proposed plan is considered an important step to achieve a truce, the release of all hostages and ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the civilian population.

Nicosia urged all aspects of the conflict to accept the parameters of the initiative and consider them as a basis for further political dialogue.

The Foreign Ministry of Cyprus emphasized that the ultimate goal should be a strong and stable peace agreement, which will ensure the security of both Israelis and Palestinians. The basis for this, according to the Cyprus side, is an internationally recognized decision to create two states, which can guarantee fair coexistence and development of the region.

“It is important that all parties accept the parameters of the plan as the basis for the future,” the official statement said.

Cyprus also expressed gratitude to the United States for their leading role in negotiations and intermediary efforts. Nicosia noted that Washington’s participation helps to speed up the settlement process and creates the conditions for further diplomatic initiatives in the region.

The US peace plan caused active discussions not only in Cyprus, but throughout the Eastern Mediterranean region. According to analysts, the position of Nicosia is of particular importance, since Cyprus remains a stable partner for both the EU and the countries of the Middle East.

It is expected that in the coming months peace negotiations will receive new development, and Cyprus will continue to actively participate in regional initiatives related to humanitarian aid and security issues.
