In India, 23 people died when a fire broke out in a busy nightclub in the state of Goa.
Three of the victims died from burns and 20 from suffocation. Among the dead are 4 tourists.
The head of the local government has ordered an investigation to determine the causes of the tragedy and whether fire safety rules and building regulations were followed. He emphasized that the culprits will face the heaviest consequences of the law, assuring at the same time that any negligence will be dealt with strictly.
According to the Indian Express newspaper, the deadly fire appears to have been caused by an explosion of a gas cylinder in the nightclub's kitchen.
