Turkey rejects the EU report. as "biased"

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterizes the annual progress report for Turkey's accession to the European Union as biased and unfounded.

Ankara accuses Brussels of adopting the positions of Greece and Cyprus on issues concerning the eastern Mediterranean and the Cyprus region. In a written statement, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintains that the Commission repeats unfounded and maximalist positions of Greece and the Greek Cypriots, ignoring the legitimate concerns of Turkey and the Turkish Cypriot side.

Ankara even claims that the attitude of Brussels proves that the European Union is not in a position to play an objective role in resolving the Cyprus issue.
