Thirty years later, a Turkish port for Cypriot ships opens according to the front page in the newspaper "Ta Nea".

In 1987, Ankara banned the mooring of ships under Cypriot flag in Turkish ports as well as the landing of Cypriot aircraft at the country's airports and their entry into the Turkish airspace.
