The internal survey conducted by the Party “Democratic Association” and presented during the congress on Saturday, July 12, demonstrated that the party support level has decreased markedly. The personal rating of her leader Annita Dimitriu also fell significantly.
According to the Pulse Market Research study, the rating of DISI is only 20%, which caused a shock to the party of the party. However, even a more painful blow was the decline in the approval of Dimitri herself: from 72% at the time of its election by the speaker of the parliament up to 52% in July 2025. Despite the fact that this figure remains relatively high, a decrease in 20 points indicates a noticeable loss of confidence in the leader on which the party relied.
Disie with last strength holds leadership with 15%, but it follows an acel with 13%, and the extreme right ELAM and the Center Dip are gaining 10%. After the redistribution of the votes of the undefined, the gap was reduced even more: DISI - 20%, Akel - 18%, Elam and Dip - 15%each.
Particular concern among strategists causes a direction in which the voices of former supporters of DISI go. The party loses the electorate both in favor of nationalists and in favor of the centrists - a signal that the outflow occurs from different flanks and indicates a deep internal crisis of the party.
Meanwhile, the rating of President Nicos Christolidis has grown slightly, reaching 44%, but still remains lower than that of Annita Dimitriu.
Among the main problems that excite voters are the leading corruption, the increase in the cost of life and immigration. The Cyprus question, which traditionally played an important role in politics, was reached a secondary plan.
The results of the focus groups conducted in parallel with the survey added reasons for anxiety: voters are increasingly feeling the detachment of the party leadership and the lack of communication with the population.
DISI is preparing for the internal elections: until September 9, candidates must be filed, and voting is expected on October 4.
Despite the alarming signals, party representatives declare their intention to maintain the status of leading political force.
