It is expected to be difficult for the next few days in terms of energy due to the cold that is expected to affect Cyprus since Thursday, Cyprus Transmission System spokesman Harasipa reported in KIPE.
"Things will be difficult. Anyway we will be in very high demand. We hope everything will go well. The situation is constantly evaluated and similar decisions will be made, "he said.
Mrs. Kousiappa said that on Thursday, a cold wave is expected, the data will be evaluated again and if needed they will make announcements.
He added that they are in constant communication with EAC production and expressed hope until the temperature drops some units and returned to the availability of the system.
He pointed out that there are units for scheduled maintenance and units that have had damage to the two stations, Dekelia and Vasilikos.
The DSMK spokesman said the difficult times for this period are between 6-9 in the afternoon that there is no contribution from renewable energy (RES).
In those times, he said, it would be good for people to be careful as much as they can for electricity demand to prevent or reduce a potential cut.
At the same time Mrs. Kusiappa urged the public to put into operation the devices that need more energy, such as washing machines and dishes at hours in the production of photovoltaics and there is no question of energy proficiency, that is, the hours of sunshine. It also urged to avoid additional energy consumption during peak hours.
Marginal and today's day
For today, he said that with the data available and the projected demand that is the same as yesterday, there is no cuts to be cut, unless any damage occurs.
"We will be marginally again. If data being monitored and evaluated constantly change, the DSMK may call for a reduction of electricity during peak hours, "he said.
He also said that as it turned out, during yesterday, people made some economy in electricity consumption, as it was lower than the previous days and this helped to spend the night smoothly.
According to DSMK data, at 10am on Wednesday morning, photovoltaics produced 208 MW, there was conventional production at 530 MW, while total demand was 744 MW.
Mrs. Kousiappa said that in the evening the demand would rise to over 900 MW and there would be no contribution from photovoltaics.
Mutual and small exchange of energy with the occupied
Concerning the exchange of energy with the occupied territories, Kousiappa made it clear that in the context of trusting measures (MOE), this is done in many cases not only these days.
He explained that what happened these days was that during peak hours there was automatic energy flow from the occupied territories, since the system is interconnected. He added that energy flows between the two systems in the event of damage.
Part A, he said, is the system controlled by the Republic of Cyprus, while Part B is the system not controlled by the Republic of Cyprus. The interconnection of the two systems, he said, helps in the stability of the system. He added that the exchange of amounts of energy between the two systems is usually small.
'It was an example last night, where it was against the rush flow from part B to Part A, and later there was a flow of energy from Part A to Part B. noted that it was purely for energy flow and not a financial transaction.
