At 18:45 on Tuesday, September 3, on Makarios Avenue in the Agios Ioannis area of Limassol, a two-year-old girl escaped the attention of her mother and ran out of the sidewalk onto the roadway. As a result, the child was hit by a car.
First, the ambulance took the girl to the Limassol Central Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. Following this, she was transferred to the children's ward of Makarios Hospital in Nicosia. Doctors assess the child’s condition as “extremely serious.” The girl was intubated.
The 39-year-old driver passed a test for alcohol and drugs. The result is negative. According to witness testimony, the car was moving along the avenue at low speed. The police are finding out the details of the accident.
