The situation in the Middle East is causing concern for many Cypriots.
A recent video circulated on the Internet showing missiles fired towards Israel from Limassol has worried islanders. Some began to wonder what to do and where to run if missiles flew towards Cyprus.
The situation was commented on by the press representative of the Ministry of Civil Defense of Cyprus, Panagiotis Liasidis. He said that at the moment there are 2,200 bomb shelters in our country. If necessary, residents of Cyprus can inquire about their location by calling 22-403452.
Liasidis noted that all underground shelters are numbered and marked with a special Civil Defense emblem. They are designed for short-term stays of people. Liasidis also said that thanks to active construction in Cyprus, many basements have appeared, which can also be used as emergency shelters.
