The ministerial council has decided to increase the minimum wage for 19 professions of the hotel industry since the first January.
Addressing members of the Council of Ministers, the President of the Republic said that over the last two years, the increase is over 10% over wages, significantly boosting salaries for thousands of low -wage hotel workers.
He also said that the continued growth of the economy creates new jobs and increased needs combined with reducing unemployment.
He even announced that on May 21 he will go to London, where he will meet with Cypriots working, there with the aim of returning and employing them to the island.
