The claim that Varosi "is a Vakoufian property from the Ottoman period and that there are big plans for its exploitation as soon as the legal differences are resolved," Ersin Tatar repeated, who met in the occupied delegation of the Union of Turkish Travel Agencies (Türs). The meeting was also attended by the President of the T/C "Travel Agencies Union", Orhan Town.
During the meeting, Mr Tatar referred to the importance of tourism for the occupied territories, arguing that, despite the "pressures and unjust embargo" on the Greek Cypriot side, the pseudo -state has managed to develop in this area.
Mr Tatar also referred to the enclosed city of Famagusta (Varosi), saying that 2.5 million visitors had visited it from its opening. He argued that the area is a "Vakoufian property" from the Ottoman period and that there are large plans for its exploitation as soon as the legal differences are resolved.
For his part, Mr Guuninin said that the Union is working to increase the tourist current to the occupied territories, promoting the natural beauties, cultural heritage and gastronomy of the area.
In the meantime, a ceremony was held in the Occupied Territory at the EBKAF building, on the occasion of the 454th anniversary of its founding and the 69th anniversary of its transfer from the colonial administration to the Turkish Cypriot community. The event was attended by, among other things, the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, the "Prime Minister" Unal Ustell, as well as officials from Turkey.
The ceremony began with a minute's silence and the recoil of the Turkish national anthem, and then wreaths were deposited at the statue of Ataturk, in occupied Nicosia. The lectures followed, emphasized the "importance" of EBKAF in the preservation of the "national and spiritual values" of the pseudo -state.
Ersin Tatar described EBKAF as a "symbol of honesty" and reiterated his claim that the enclosed city of Famagusta (Varos) is a "Vakoufian property". He also referred to "struggles" to claim property in "Southern Cyprus" as well as British bases.
For his part, EBKAF General Manager Mustafa Thumman said that the Foundation, with roots from the Ottoman period, continues to play a "social and cultural contribution" role and adapted to the "demands of the time".
The event ended with the awards awards to students who participated in a painting competition on "The contribution of Vakoufs to Society".
In addition to 50% of Turkish Turks support the two states, the tatar claims
Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar reiterated his commitment to two states, claiming that support in this policy has exceeded 50% among Turkish Cypriots, while support for the federation has fallen to 25%. At the same time, he referred to the unity between Turkish Cypriots and Turkey, describing them as "a nation", and condemned, as he said, sowing divisions, especially on the recent headquarters.
According to the Press and Information Office, according to the newspaper "Cyprus", Mr Tatar argued that the occupation regime was a "rule of law" based on Ataturk's principles and called on not to be allowed to allow division. He claimed that "people and groups trying to sow divisions of divisions [...] are directly attacking the unity and solidarity of our state". He described those who opposed the Regulation on the headscarf as "malicious circles" for provocative reasons.
Mr Tatar insisted that, thanks to relations with Turkey, the policy of sovereign equality and the equivalent international regime has been promoted internationally, making it clear, as he argued, that the Greek Cypriot side "is responsible for the failure of the federation talks".
He added that investigations show that 90% of Turkish Cypriots support the importance of Turkey's guarantees and assured that it would continue to promote Turkish Cypriots' fair case in international forums, such as Antalya.
