Annual retail trade growth of 7.6% in value and 10.1% in volume in October
The Retail Trade Cycle Value Index increased in October 2025 by 7.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, according to the Statistical Service.
During the same month the Retail Trade Turnover Index increased by 10.1% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
Both in value and volume, the largest increases were recorded in clothing and footwear (15.3% and 24.4% respectively), in food, beverages and tobacco in specialized stores (12.9% and 15.3% respectively) and in other household equipment (building materials, carpets, furniture, electrical appliances, lighting) by 11% and 12.8% respectively.
The largest decrease was recorded in non-store retail trade (10.7% in value and 7.5% in volume).
In the period January-October 2025, the retail trade turnover value index increased by 6.4% and the retail trade turnover volume index by 7.8%.
