Police have arrested three women on suspicion of murdering 30-year-old Nigerian woman Victory Osarumen Thompson, who was found dead in an apartment in the Potamos-Germasogeia area.
According to investigators, on the morning of November 9, the suspects beat the woman to death using a mop. A broken stick with traces of blood was found at the scene.
Neighbors reported hearing screams from the apartment where four women lived. All three suspects admitted that a fight took place that night - one of them punched the victim, the other hit him with a mop.
The women claim that these methods were used to try to calm Thompson, who, according to them, was drunk and under the influence of drugs. When she lost consciousness, they assumed she had fallen asleep and called an ambulance a few hours later.
Police are looking for two more people allegedly involved in the beating. An autopsy revealed that death was caused by traumatic brain injury and multiple blunt force injuries.
