Antoniou: There was a warning from Brussels about potential hybrid threats ahead of the Cypriot Presidency

Nicosia has been informed for 3-4 months by Brussels about possible hybrid threats, in view of taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Deputy Government Spokesman, Yannis Antoniou, told the "Morning Itinerary".

He added that the video that has seen the light of day is a combination of real footage with edited audio and video. He said there were serious indications of malicious and bad faith editing, with strong characteristics of organized propaganda.

Referring to the people presented in the video, Mr. Antoniou clarified that he only represents the President of the Republic, whose instructions were clear: "If it is found that any reprehensible action has been committed by the Director of his Office, Charalambos Charalambous will cease to be next to the President."

The Deputy Government Spokesperson said that the President of the Republic is under attack on his most valuable attribute, his honesty, calling on those who have evidence against him to report it to the authorities for investigation.

At the same time, he recommended caution, stressing that the shadow that currently exists over the Republic of Cyprus, as president of the Council of the European Union, must be managed.

At the same time, Yannis Antoniou called it unfortunate that some people are quick to adopt the content of a video, the authenticity of which is under investigation.
