It is suspended by 27 February 2025, the abstinence of ambulance crew rescuers from their overtime duties, following written assurances by the Minister of Health, Michalis, Damianou, that at two weeks at the latest, the bill to register his profession. The ambulance crew rescuers had announced last week that on Monday, February 17th, they would abstain from any other duty, except for the emergency service, as a sign of protest for the department of the Department, but also for the non -promotion of the Department. In his statements to the CYPE, the President of the Cyprus Crews Association, Michalis Arestis, confirmed the suspension of the announced measures, saying that last Friday, written assurances were given by the Minister of Health that by the time of the month at the latest of the month. It is brought before the Cabinet and then to the House Health Committee and the plenary for voting.
According to Mr Aresti, "the responsible minister managed and sent us a letter, in writing, that the draft of the bill was completed by the Legal Service and that it had it informally in his hands."
He noted that in his letter, the Minister of Health assured them that tomorrow he would have the bill and officially in his hands and that he would promote it on February 26 at the Council of Ministers.
He expressed the hope that the Minister's assurances would be made, warning that if by the 26th of the month the bill does not reach the ministerial, then they would proceed with the announced measures.
By confirming the suspension of the measures, the President of the Guild Nikos Loizidis assured that the "battle" has just begun and that rescuers would not rest if they did not achieve their goals and vision, as he said.
