AKEL considers the reaction of the President of the Republic to what is included in the disputed video to be disappointing and inferior to the circumstances.
He accuses the President that instead of coming forward, giving convincing answers and taking responsibility, he tries, as reported by AKEL, to cover up the whole situation of institutional entanglement and corruption that exists.
This attitude of the President, he adds, makes his political responsibilities even greater.
At the same time, he claims that the President and his associates are trying to shift the issue from the content of the video to its origin.
However, he continues, regardless of origin what the protagonists say does not change.
AKEL emphasizes that it is not going to let the matter be closed, adding that it has submitted a proposal for a Law to abolish the Fund managed by the President's wife and has also registered a matter for discussion in the Institutions Committee.
