On Sunday afternoon, May 25, in one of the Kato Paphos hotels, a 60-year-old tourist from Great Britain was found dead in the pool.
According to preliminary data, the man was in the water when other vacationers noticed that he did not show signs of life. He was immediately pulled out of the pool and called emergency services. Doctors arrived promptly, but it was not possible to save the man - his death was ascertained on the spot.
The victim was urgently delivered to the Paphos hospital, where the doctors on duty confirmed the fact of death. The authorities promptly cordoned off the hotel and began the investigation of the incident. The circumstances of the incident are not yet clear.
It is expected that the autopsy that will be carried out in the near future will help establish the exact cause of death.
