A 38-year-old woman was jailed for 12 years on Friday after having flown to Paphos airport with a total of 16 kilograms of cannabis in her luggage.

The woman had travelled to Paphos airport from abroad on July 9 last year alongside a 56-year-old male companion, with police having found the cannabis in a suitcase belonging to them.

Both were arrested, and the man was handed a 12-year sentence in February.
