The granting of additional credits, amounting to 109.5 million euros, is included in the amending budget submitted by the Government.
Speaking after the completion of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, said that since the budget is balanced, there is no burden on the fiscal balance.
Analyzing the budget funds, Mr. Keravnos said that they concern a subsidy of the electricity consumption charge price, an additional contribution to cover allowances and a supplement to the minimum pension.
In addition, they concern an increase in the contribution to the Social Insurance Fund and the Agricultural Payments Organization, support to farmers for damage caused by adverse weather conditions, installation of air conditioning systems in schools, subsidizing fees for Secondary Education students and meeting the needs of the Forestry Department to deal with fires.
