Tourism revenues are "rising" - 6% increase in September 2024

Tourism receipts are up 6.0% in September 2024, compared to last September, while they are up 4.9% in the first nine months of this year, compared to the same period in 2023.

Specifically, according to the Statistical Service, based on the results of the Travelers Survey, tourism revenues in September 2024 amounted to €454.1 million, showing an increase of 6.0% compared to the corresponding month of 2023 (€428 .4 cm.).

For the period January – September 2024, tourism revenues are estimated at €2,575.9 million, compared to €2,456.1 million. in the corresponding period of 2023, recording an increase of 4.9%.

Cost Analysis

Besides, according to the Statistical Service, the per capita expenditure of tourists in September 2024 amounts to €891.29 compared to €879.13 in September 2023, marking an increase of 1.4%.

British tourists (the largest tourist market with 35.5% of all tourists in September 2024) spent an average of €112.35 per day, while Israeli tourists (the second largest tourist market during the given month with 10.7% of the total) spent an average of €150.63.

Tourists from Poland (third largest market at 8.3%), spent €88.96 per day.
