The IRS has again extended the filing deadline. A police box will be installed on the Phinikoudes embankment in Larnaca. Parliament is discussing a bill on cash transactions over €10,000.
The IRS has again extended the deadline for filing 2023 returns. The deadline is now set for November 30th. This is the second extension this year. The decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. A police box and information kiosk will be installed on the Phinikoudes embankment in Larnaca, as well as patrolling will be stepped up. The decision was made at a meeting between Larnaca Mayor Andreas Viras and Police Chief Themistos Arnaoutis. It was a response to increasing incidents of violence on the popular promenade. Parliament is debating a bill that would abolish all existing exemptions and make it completely illegal to purchase goods or services with cash in excess of €10,000, even if the payment is split into several instalments. The legislative proposal provides for a fine of 10% of the amount for businesses that violate this requirement. Read also:
