The first flamingos flew to the Larnaca Salt Lake. You can look at them from afar, but you cannot approach them, try to feed them, or film them with a drone. Flamingos must feed on plankton, which will help them gain strength and acquire a pinkish color. They will stay in Larnaca until the lake dries up.
The stolen items were identified by the victim
A 78-year-old jewelry store owner in Nicosia was detained on suspicion of selling stolen jewelry. Police believe the man was collaborating with two recently arrested robbers, aged 19 and 22. Both have robbed ten houses in the capital over the past two months. The man sold their booty in his store. One of the victims of the robbers identified her jewelry among those confiscated from the jeweler.
624 students are educated in special schools in Cyprus
The number of students in special schools has increased by 25% over the past five years. Today, they educate 624 children, teach 407 teachers and employ 182 school assistants who help children with special needs. 31 buses are used for the needs of schools, of which 19 are new.
